The Corona virus pandemic has gripped us badly now and Maharashtra state is badly hit by it in our country.
Maharashtra government has now decided to carry on with e-tokens on trial basis.
Since the lockdown relaxation on liquor shops in Maharashtra state, there's been overcrowding & non compliance of social distancing (over crowding) incidents seen in Pune and elsewhere in the country.
This should not impact the sales of liquor at the same time corona virus shouldn't grip the people standing in line buy the liquor.

The Maharashtra excise department has decided to start an online token system on a pilot basis for the sale of liquor in Pune city to avoid crowding at shops.
The move comes after tipplers gathered in large numbers outside liquor shops at several places in the state last week, defying the physical distancing norms to contain the spread of coronavirus.
There's a new website link created to take the e-tokens and the process is pretty simple.
Under the new system, a person can get a token by registering on the state excise department's portal and then go to the shop to buy liquor, a senior department official said on Monday.
Only those who get the token can go to the shop and buy liquor. It will help in preventing long queues of people outside liquor shops. Huge crowds outside shops put a lot of pressure on the state administration to enforce physical distancing, he said.
The government plans to issue a limited number of tokens for liquor sale to avoid crowding on streets, he said.
This is very good plan to avoid crowds and not have impacted sales & I think it's a win - win situation.

Narayan Peth, Bhawani Peth and neighboring areas are declared as Red Zones and hence they are taken care with utmost attention. Wanawadi, Aundh and Vishrantwadi , Viman Nagar and Wagholi are also Red zones. Bhawani peth comes under containment zone now. Rapid Action Force.
